Getting Started 1
idmypet.com Is Fast, Efficient And Simple To Use!
We don't like websites that are complicated either!
1. First, open the box and remove the device. The easy open packaging allows you to effortlessly seperate the top and bottom of the package so no scissors or knives are needed. Keep the plastic package in case you ever need to return the device to idmypet.com. Your unique ID number, ID password and Med-eData password are located on the inside of the package insert card. After opening the package unfold the insert card and make sure the passwords on the inside of the insert card match your invoice.
2. Unscrew the cap from the idmypet device and plug the device into an available USB port on your computer. Depending on your computer settings, the device may open on its own or you may have to click "My Computer" on your desktop and look for the device in the list. If you have to click "My Computer" the device will be under the heading "Drives With Removable Storage". Your idmypet.com ID is seperated into 2 partitions. The first partition, which is non eraseable, contains a PDF file with the unique ID number. The second partition is available space where you can load your own personal data pages about your pet. Once your computer recognizes the device, match the unique ID number displayed on your screen to your invoice and insert card.
3. Once you have verified that all numbers match, remove the device and place it aside. We'll get back to it in a few minutes. (you may also just leave it plugged into your computer, if you wish).
4. Now go to idmypet.com. From the Action Center click on "Register/Edit ID Profile". You may also get to it via the upper and lower link keys from any web page. Hover over "Register" then click "Register Now".
5.You are now taken to the "Register/Edit ID Profile" log in page. Enter your pet's unique ID number and the Unique ID password and click "Search" at the bottom of the search box. Do not enter your Med-eData password here as it will not work. After clicking "Search" your data record will open and you may begin entering your pet's information along with your information. Some entries, which are marked with an asterick, are required. If you skip them you will not be able to continue, however, you may type "not applicable" in the boxes if you don't want to enter the information. Make sure all required data is entered correctly, then click "Submit".
6. You're done! You pet's information is now entered in the idmypet.com international database where anyone can enter your pet's unique ID number from the "ID a Pet" link on any page of the website and identify your pet in just seconds.
7.To verify your information, click on the "ID a Pet" link in the Action Center or at the very top or bottom of the screen in the link keys and, when you get to the search box, simply enter in your pet's unique ID number and click "Search". The information you just entered should appear in the results. If you made an error or would like to redo something, just go back to paragraph #4 in this section and start again. You may change or update the information anytime you wish.
