How Do My Pet's Medical Records Get Online ?
There are two ways your pet's medical records can appear online. The first way is to ask your veterinarian, or the vet's office staff, to update the record each time you visit your vet's office. The update process will take less than 2 minutes because your vet will only add information to the record that is critical and can be understood by other veterinarians. Data such as a special medication which was injected or given orally at the last visit, a certain procedure performed to treat a condition or the diagnosis and prognosis of a particular ailment or injury your pet has sustained. No. Each database maintained by idmypet.com's servers is different and there is no way to confuse or mix up the two. The idmypet.com Profile ID database can only be accessed by using the special 7 digit password supplied to you when you purchased the device. This password allows you to change pet and owner information at your discretion and should not be shared with anyone at anytime. On the other hand, the Med-eData Online password is a completely different password provided to you at the same time you purchased your idmypet.com ID device. The Med-eData password is also located on your invoice and this is the password you provide to your veterinarian. When you provide the password to your vet he or she will make a note of it in your pet's medical file. Your vet only has access to your pet's medical records, not your pet's ID records. However, it's important to note that for convenience purposes your pet's unique ID number will always remain the same for both databases, only the passwords are different.
